PLANNING: STORYBOARDS

Storyboards and Planning:

Before filming my partner and I discussed the different actives that we wanted our character Daisy to have on her 'bucket list' in our short film. We then chose the oder of which she would carry out the actives putting the more exciting ones first because as her illness takes over her body she wont as active.

PLANNING: INDESIGN

In class we explored our new software InDesign. This is the software that I indent to edit and create my short film poster on. I investigated into different ways that you can present text, or the title of the film but also how you can create different shapes and fill them with images. Most excitingly I discovered how to use the, type on a path tool

CONSTRUCTION: FILM POSTER

After researching into other film posters is gave me a few ideas as to what I wanted to do for my own film poster. Firstly, I drew out a basic design of what I wanted my poster to look like.

Next my partner and I took still shots of our protagonist in different poses.

This shot was my favourite and I intent to use this image in both Photoshop and Indesign to edit it to create my poster.

Next I looked closely at the information found on professional film posters, for example release date, actors and actresses names and the film website. After doing this I decided and wrote out the text that will appear on my own short film poster. This task also involved us creating the name of our production company. The text for my poster are as follows:

RESEARCH: SHORT FILM POSTERS

To gain ideas for my own short film poster I looked into other film posters with the same genre as the one my partner and I are creating ('chick flick/ female led teen romance). This really helped me as I have now had a look at different styles, colours and layouts.
